Upon arrival at Arusha Airport (ARK) or Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be warmly welcomed by our representative, who will assist you and provide a brief introduction before transferring you by road to your accommodation in Arusha for an overnight stay.
Destination: Arusha City
Meals: Bed & Breakfast
After breakfast, we depart for Tarangire National Park, named after the Tarangire River that flows through the park. This lifeline, sometimes known as the “Warthog River,” provides the only reliable source of water for wildlife in the area during the dry season.
The park features a variety of landscapes and habitats, with some areas covered by dense vegetation, including elephant grass, acacia woodlands, and lush groundwater forests. Tarangire is particularly famous for its large elephant herds, which can often be seen gathering along the river. You may also encounter giraffes, gazelles, hartebeests, and a variety of other wildlife, closely followed by predators such as lions and leopards. Tarangire is also renowned for its remarkable diversity of birdlife, with an impressive range of breeding species.
After lunch, enjoy an extensive game drive through the park before continuing to our partner lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Destination: Tarangire National Park
Meals: Full Board (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
After breakfast, we depart for Lake Manyara National Park, an unspoiled paradise renowned for its abundant birdlife and famous tree-climbing lions. The dramatic western escarpment of the Great Rift Valley forms the park’s western boundary, while the shallow, alkaline waters of Lake Manyara stretch across much of the eastern side.
The lake expands and contracts with the seasons, becoming home to thousands of flamingos during the rainy season. The name “Manyara” comes from the Maasai word “emanyara,” referring to a common plant traditionally used to create protective fencing around homesteads, or bomas.
The park features a remarkable variety of habitats, ranging from open savannah and grasslands to lush evergreen forests. As you explore, keep an eye out for giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, and elephants. If you are lucky, you may even spot the park’s famous lions resting high in the trees.
After lunch, enjoy an extensive game drive through the park before continuing to our partner lodge in Karatu, where you will enjoy dinner and spend the night.
Destination: Lake Manyara National Park
Meals: Full Board (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
After breakfast, you will descend approximately 600 metres into the Ngorongoro Crater.
The crater was formed two to three million years ago when a massive volcano erupted and subsequently collapsed inward. Today, it is renowned for its extraordinary geological features and its status as a natural wildlife sanctuary, supporting one of the highest concentrations of large mammals in Africa.
The descent into the crater is an adventure in itself. Once you reach the crater floor, you will soon find yourself surrounded by abundant wildlife, including wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles, as well as more than 500 species of birds. The crater also offers one of the best opportunities to spot the endangered black rhinoceros, which can sometimes be seen grazing across the open grasslands.
After lunch, enjoy an extensive game drive inside the crater before continuing toward the Serengeti, where you will relax, enjoy dinner, and spend the night at your selected tented camp or lodge.
Destination: Ngorongoro Crater & Serengeti National Park
Meals: Full Board (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
After breakfast, we continue our game drive through Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti is truly spectacular, renowned for its vast open plains that provide exceptional opportunities for wildlife viewing.
It is Tanzania’s oldest national park and forms part of one of the oldest ecosystems on Earth. For millions of years, its climate and vegetation have remained remarkably consistent, supporting an extraordinary diversity of wildlife.
While the Serengeti is home to an incredible variety of animals, it is perhaps most famous for the Great Migration. Vast herds of wildebeest, accompanied by large numbers of zebras and gazelles, move across the plains in an annual cycle in search of fresh grazing. The exact timing and route of the migration depend largely on the seasonal rainfall patterns each year.
After lunch, enjoy an extensive game drive before returning to our partner tented lodge or campsite for dinner and an overnight stay.
Destination: Serengeti National Park
Meals: Full Board (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
After breakfast, you will head directly to the airport for your flight to Zanzibar International Airport (ZNZ). Upon arrival, travel through historic Stone Town before continuing to Nungwi on the northern coast of Zanzibar, renowned for its beautiful white coral-sand beaches that seem to glow even after sunset.
Although Nungwi is lively and vibrant, it still offers a sense of tranquility and seclusion. Its expansive coastline provides plenty of space for swimming and snorkeling, with some of the most pristine and coral-rich waters in Africa. It is also one of the few beaches in Zanzibar that is less affected by extreme tidal changes, making it ideal for enjoying water activities throughout the day.
Deep-sea fishing around Nungwi is exceptional, with opportunities to catch species such as kingfish, dorado, yellowfin tuna, and large marlin in the waters of the Indian Ocean. There is plenty to enjoy, from nature walks and sunset cruises to diving excursions and parasailing. Yet sometimes, all it takes to fall in love with this enchanting African beach is watching traditional dhows gently sailing across the ocean as the sun sets.
You will spend eight nights in this incredible destination, giving you plenty of time to relax, explore, and enjoy the beauty of Zanzibar’s northern coast.
Destination: Nungwi, Northern Zanzibar Coast
Meals: Half Board (Breakfast & Dinner)
Lunch is not included.
After breakfast, enjoy some time to relax at your hotel in Zanzibar before being transferred directly to the airport or ferry terminal for your onward journey, marking the end of your epic African adventure.
