Overview
Arusha. Distance: 130 km. Pick-up on arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport. Transfer to your hotel in Arusha for the night, breakfast included. 45 km, 60-75 minutes.
- Accommodation: Venice Hotel or similar. Optional accommodation upgrades are available at an extra cost: Tulia Hotel, Venus Hotel or Four Points by Sheraton. You will have the best chance to explore Tanzania’s national parks, with budget camping accommodation used during the safari.
Note: the last sentence appears to be copied from a safari itinerary and doesn’t fit a Mount Meru climb, so you may want to delete it.

Itinerary

After breakfast, we continue the climb to the second hut, Saddle Hut. This section is steeper than the first. In the afternoon, guests can decide whether to attempt the climb to Little Meru Peak and return. Dinner and overnight at Saddle Hut.

Wake up in the middle of the night and have a cup of tea before starting the attempt to climb Mount Meru's main peak. Follow the rocky trail to the summit, then return to Saddle Hut for a hearty breakfast. After a short rest, leave Saddle Hut and descend via the first hut (Miriakamba Hut) to Momella Gate. On the way from Momella, return to Arusha.
