Overview
Experience the untouched beauty of Tarangire National Park, renowned for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. During the dry season, the Tarangire River becomes a vital lifeline for wildlife, attracting thousands of animals from the surrounding areas.
Marvel at family groups of elephants digging for water in the dry riverbeds or feeding among the acacia woodlands. The park is also home to unique species such as fringe-eared oryx and gerenuk.
Bird enthusiasts will be delighted by more than 550 recorded bird species, including the colourful yellow-collared lovebird.

Itinerary
We will pick you up from your hotel at 7:30 AM. After meeting your guide and getting acquainted, you will drive to Tarangire National Park, approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes away. The park is renowned for its diverse landscapes, ancient baobab trees, and one of the largest concentrations of elephants in Tanzania, offering exceptional opportunities to observe the fascinating interactions within elephant families.
You will enjoy a game drive through the park, following reports of wildlife sightings and focusing particularly on predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards, which can be more challenging to spot. Herbivores, including giraffes, wildebeest, and zebras, are commonly seen throughout the park.
You will then head to a picnic site along the Tarangire River, where you can enjoy lunch while taking in beautiful views of the river and surrounding wildlife. Curious monkeys and baboons may even try to steal your lunch, so keep an eye on your food!
After lunch, you will continue your game drive before leaving the park at around 4:30 PM and beginning your journey back to Arusha.
