Itinerary

Distance: 130 km

You will be picked up in Arusha and transferred to Lake Manyara National Park.

We will arrive at the lodge in time for lunch. After lunch, you will head out for an afternoon game drive in Lake Manyara National Park.

This park is one of Tanzania’s most scenic wildlife areas, centered around a vast but shallow soda lake that covers approximately two-thirds of the park. It lies at the foot of the dramatic escarpment of the western Great Rift Valley.

The park’s diverse habitats support a wide variety of wildlife, including one of Africa’s largest concentrations of elephants, the famous tree-climbing lions of Lake Manyara, and large flocks of flamingos attracted by algae-rich waters.

Dinner and overnight accommodation will be arranged according to the selected accommodation standard and category.

Non-Game-Drive Travel Time: 6 hours
Distance: 205 km

After breakfast, we travel to Serengeti National Park, passing through the beautiful highland farmlands around Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Along the way, we will stop at Olduvai Gorge, known as the “Cradle of Mankind,” where the Leakey family discovered Homo habilis fossils dating back approximately 1.75 million years. Alternatively, you may choose to visit an authentic Maasai village, where you will be welcomed by a traditional Maasai family and have the opportunity to experience this unique culture.

We will arrive in time for lunch before heading out for an afternoon game drive in Serengeti National Park, taking you deep into the heart of this famous wildlife migration corridor.

With its vast open spaces, brilliant blue skies, and wildlife-filled landscapes, you will discover why the legendary Serengeti represents the timeless dream of “old Africa.” Large prides of lions may be seen resting lazily in the tall grass, while elephant herds feed on acacia bark and communicate across the plains. Giraffes, gazelles, monkeys, wildebeest, and many other African wildlife species can be seen in remarkable numbers.

Dinner and overnight accommodation will be arranged in the Seronera area, according to the selected accommodation standard and category.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

After breakfast, you will set out for a full-day game drive in Serengeti National Park, with a picnic lunch enjoyed at a designated spot along the way.

Your guide will do their best to locate wildlife and position the vehicle in the best possible locations for viewing and photography. The Great Migration naturally attracts predators, so if you are fortunate, you may even witness a dramatic hunting encounter.

Dinner and overnight accommodation will be arranged according to the selected accommodation standard and category.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Non-Game-Drive Travel Time: 4 hours
Distance: 145 km

For an unforgettable experience, you can take a hot-air balloon flight over the Serengeti Plains (available at an additional cost and by prior arrangement). Gently drifting above the awakening wilderness, you can enjoy breathtaking African scenery while spotting wildlife from the air, with views stretching across rivers and scattered settlements.

After a relaxed morning and brunch, you will continue your safari toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, your driver-guide will continue sharing insights into Tanzania’s wildlife, landscapes, and natural heritage, pointing out animals and interesting features along the route.

Dinner and overnight accommodation will be arranged in the Ngorongoro area, according to the selected accommodation standard and category.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

You will begin your day early with a full-day game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the world’s most spectacular wildlife destinations. With a packed picnic lunch, you will descend into the crater floor, often described as an African Eden and one of the world’s natural wonders.

Supported by a year-round water supply and abundant grazing, the crater is home to an impressive diversity of wildlife, including herds of wildebeest and zebra, buffalo, eland, warthogs, hippos, and magnificent African elephants.

Another major attraction is the crater’s rich population of predators, including lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and elusive leopards, which can sometimes require a trained eye to spot.

We will also visit Lake Magadi, a large, shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner of the crater and one of its most prominent features. Large numbers of flamingos, hippos, and other waterbirds can often be seen around the lake.

Dinner and overnight accommodation will be arranged according to the selected accommodation standard and category.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Non-Game-Drive Travel Time: 4 hours
Distance: 190 km

After breakfast, we drive to Tarangire National Park for an exciting game drive. Although relatively small, Tarangire offers spectacular landscapes and remarkable wildlife experiences.

During the dry season, the park often becomes a hub of activity as large numbers of wildlife and birds gather around the Tarangire River, a permanent source of water.

In the late afternoon, we depart for Arusha, arriving at approximately 2:00 PM, marking the end of your safari. A gratuity of approximately US$20 per day for the guide is recommended.

You will be dropped off at your hotel or airport, bringing our safari services to an end.
