Itinerary
After breakfast, your driver will pick you up for a 1.5-hour drive from Arusha to Chemka Hot Springs via the Arusha–Moshi Road. The journey begins on a paved road before turning onto a gravel road after about an hour, taking you through stunning African countryside dotted with bushland, dry riverbeds, baobab trees, and acacias.
When you arrive at Kikuletwa, you will find an oasis surrounded by fig trees in the middle of a semi-arid landscape. The crystal-clear spring water emerges from underground caves, giving the site its name, “Hot Springs.”
If you have brought your swimwear, you can enjoy a refreshing swim and relax in the shade of the surrounding trees. After a picnic lunch, we will return to Moshi via the gravel road, passing the Kiravu River and sugarcane plantations before arriving back in Arusha in the late afternoon.
