Itinerary
Upon arrival at Arusha Airport (ARK) or Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), your representative will meet and welcome you, provide a brief orientation, and then drive you to your accommodation in Arusha for an overnight stay.
Destination: Arusha City
Meals: Bed & Breakfast
After a morning departure following breakfast, we set off for Tarangire National Park. The park takes its name from the Tarangire River that runs through it. This "River of Warthogs" is the sole source of water for wildlife in the region during the dry season. Vegetation is quite dense in places, including elephant grass, acacia woodlands, and lush groundwater forests. The park is renowned for its elephant herds, which can frequently be seen gathering along the riverbank. You may also spot giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests, closely followed by various predators including lions and leopards. Tarangire National Park is home to more breeding bird species than anywhere else on Earth! After lunch and an extensive game drive, we proceed to our partner lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Destination: Tarangire National Park
Meals: Full Board (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner)
After an early departure following breakfast, we head to Lake Manyara National Park, an unspoiled paradise famous for its abundant birdlife and tree-climbing lions. The dramatic western escarpment of the Great Rift Valley forms the park's western border, while to the east lies shallow, alkaline Lake Manyara. The lake covers a large area of the park, rising and falling with the seasons, and hosts thousands of flamingos during the rainy season. The name Manyara comes from the Maasai word "emanyara", a popular plant used to build protective enclosures (bomas) around family homesteads. The park features diverse vegetation, ranging from savannah to evergreen forests. As you explore, you may see giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, elephants, and with a bit of luck, lions resting in the trees. After lunch and an extensive game drive, we proceed to our partner lodge in Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay.
Destination: Lake Manyara National Park
Meals: Full Board (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner)
After breakfast, you will descend into the crater floor, reaching depths of nearly 600 meters. This caldera was formed two to three million years ago when a massive volcano exploded and collapsed in on itself. It is celebrated both for its geological wonders and as a natural sanctuary housing the highest density of large mammals on the African continent. The drive down into the crater is an adventure in itself, and upon reaching the crater floor, you will quickly find yourself surrounded by vast herds of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles, as well as over 500 species of birdlife. The crater offers your best opportunity to spot the endangered black rhino, which can occasionally be seen roaming the open grasslands. After lunch and an extensive game drive within the crater, we proceed to our tented camp or lodge in the Serengeti to relax, enjoy dinner, and spend the night.
Destination: Ngorongoro Crater & Serengeti National Park
Meal Plan: Full Board (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner)
Early in the morning after breakfast, we continue with game viewing in Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti is truly spectacular, famed for its vast open plains that offer exceptional wildlife viewing opportunities. As Tanzania's oldest national park, it stands as one of the oldest ecosystems on Earth, with its climate and vegetation remaining virtually unchanged for millions of years. While the Serengeti boasts a rich diversity of wildlife, it is most famous for the annual Great Migration. Massive herds of wildebeests, accompanied by large numbers of zebras and gazelles, move in a year-round cycle in search of fresh grazing pastures. The precise timing of this migration depends entirely on seasonal rainfall patterns. After lunch and an extensive game drive, we proceed to our partner tented lodge or camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Destination: Serengeti National Park
Meal Plan: Full Board (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner)
After breakfast, you will transfer directly to the airstrip for your flight to Zanzibar Airport (ZNZ). Passing through Stone Town, you will proceed to Nungwi on Zanzibar's northern coast, home to white coral sand beaches that seem to glow even after dark.
Despite its lively atmosphere, Nungwi maintains a secluded feel. Its expanse of coastline offers generous space for swimming and snorkeling in some of the most pristine, reef-rich waters in Africa. This is one of the rare beaches in Zanzibar not heavily affected by the tide, making it ideal for all-day water activities.
Deep-sea fishing near Nungwi is world-class, offering opportunities to catch kingfish, mahi-mahi, yellowfin tuna, and massive striped marlin from the Indian Ocean. A wide array of activities is available—hiking, sunset cruises, diving excursions, and parasailing, among others—though simply watching traditional dhows sway against the setting sun is enough to captivate anyone on this stunning African beach.
You will spend 8 nights at this incredible destination.
Destination: Zanzibar North Coast (Nungwi)
Meal Plan: Half Board (Dinner & Breakfast; Lunch not included)
After breakfast and a relaxing morning at your Zanzibar hotel, you will be transferred directly to the airport or ferry terminal, marking the end of your epic adventure.
Meal Plan: Breakfast
