Overview

Experience the untamed beauty of Tarangire National Park, famous for its elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. During the dry season, the Tarangire River becomes a lifeline for wildlife, attracting thousands of animals from the surrounding areas.Marvel at family groups of elephants digging for water in the riverbed or browse among the acacia woodlands. The park is also home to unique species like the fringe-eared oryx and gerenuk. Bird enthusiasts will delight in over 550 bird species, including the colorful yellow-collared lovebird.

Tour Plan

We will pick you up from your hotel at 7:30 am and after being familiar with the guide you will drive to Tarangire (1hr 45min drive) famous for its diverse landscape. The park is particularly known for the abundance of ancient baobab trees and the largest concentration of elephants in the whole country and provides unique chances to observe the interaction between elephant families. You will do a game drive through the park depending on where there are reported sightings of animals (mostly predators, lions, cheetahs, and leopards as they are harder to spot) as herbivores (giraffes, wildebeest, zebras, etc. are plenty to see.

Later on, you will go to the Tarangire River picnic site and enjoy the beautiful view of the river and animals while having lunch, small monkeys and baboons will try to scare you off your lunch but there is nothing to worry about.

You will proceed with the game drive and exit the park around 4:30 pm and start the drive back to Arusha
